Lofang here to update you on some new things added to the site! The NG Knight Lamune & 40 novels are all now uploaded in full to the Nekketsu Collection, as are the volumes of the VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire manga that I own. Also, I have uploaded the NG Knight Lamune & 40 Post Cards which came with my laser disk box set of the series, check those out if you’re a fan, lots of very rare official art, some of which I had never seen before.
I also thought you all would be interested to know that in celebration of Sailor Moon’s 20th Anniversary and the announcement of the new Sailor Moon anime in 2013 (I will be working on that with a different group), I will soon be releasing Lamune DX. I know it’s out of order, but what better way for a Lamune-centered group to celebrate Sailor Moon’s anniversary? Plus it’s my favorite OVA.
I’m sure I’ll be updating again very soon, Nyoron fans!
Hey Nyoronites, this week we have a very special episode of Lamune, this is the episode where things start getting really exciting and less formulaic monster of the week. The next 13 episodes are fantastic and the last third of the season is unforgettable! Here’s hoping those who have stuck with the show this far will love it as much as I do now that we’re getting to the really good part!
As always, the direct download is available on the downloads page along with the torrent, and translators notes are available in this post in addition to our youtube channel!
Bet you all thought you’d never hear from me again, huh?
Well it’s April first, and in addition to being a day you have to watch your back around jokesters, it’s also the day in 2007 Nyoron first started by subbing episode one of Gurren Laggan.
In commemoration of this day, I have put together a majority of the projects I started but never finished, most overdue KO Century, Three Beast Warriors, an OVA I picked up when I saw the awful North American version which received a very 4kids-esque treatment here in terms of translation and editing. As a Kappei Yamaguchi fan I could not stand for this. KO is also the show that acted as my gateway into NG Knight Lamune & 40. They are both by the same studio and along with Saber Marionette J and VS Knight Lamune & 40, they compose the “2 letter series.” The former 3 all converge in VS Knight. Since Saber Marionette got a fair shake in the US, I don’t feel the need to translate it like I did with KO.
The next project I’ve had on the back-burner for some time is the first Gurren Laggan Movie. This has been complete for ages waiting on Karaoke. Seeing how the only time it would be appropriate would be the ending theme, I decided to release it as is. This project was kind of meant to prove something to myself, since my first project doing the series was abysmal quality, translating the movies was to prove to myself and anyone else who cared how far I’ve come how much I’ve improved over the years. I have the second one half translated along with a bunch of untranslated bonus material, so I will probably translate the rest of that sometime in the future. But working on the 2nd movie brought to mind an important revelation.
Lamune is where my heart is. Working on all the other projects I have put aside, I couldn’t help but think “I’d rather be working on Lamune right now. ” It took my better half Elly saying “If Lamune is what you really care about, why are you bothering with this other stuff?” to make me realize what direction I wanted to take with Nyoron. I want this site to become the definitive source of Lamune related material in English. Upon making that decision, we tore apart my Lamune & 40 Illustration book and Memorial Book, scanned them in at 600dpi and uploaded them here for everyone to enjoy as the first two works in my “Nekketsu Collection” now accessable from the top drop-down menu. In addition to these materials I also intend to tear apart, scan and upload the Lamune Light novels, EX 1 2 and 3, Gaiden 1 2 and 3, XX is already up in the Memorial Book and just needs translated.
And of course, I would be remiss If I let the actual series go unworked on, so today I present you with episodes 10, 11, 12, and 13, marking the end of the 1st half of the Harahara World arc, next episode begins the 2nd half, or the Queen Cideron arc. And of course, I have translator’s notes for all four.
Again, thanks for your loyal patronage, and here’s to five more years of Nyoron Fansubs!
P.S. A million thanks to my forever lover Elly for making the awesome new layout for the site! Kisses and hugs forever!
Hey Lolfang here, Just dropping in to make a few things clear
First I’m not dead. Put away the crucifix. I have a couple episodes of Lamune and an episode of Might Gaine ready to put up, but as you can see, our tracker is borked, so I’m finding other options.
Second, will Nyoron be subbing Gundam AGE?
The answer is an emphatic no.
1. This series is retarded looking. I’m all for nostalgia in animation, but putting 70s style characters in a hd format with hd mechanical and enemy design looks really disjointed and stupid.
2. I’m not too thrilled about the concept. Letting the guy you hired to design the Gundam video games write a script for a show is a bad fucking idea Sunrise.
3. This show stands for everything Gundam is not. Gundam was created in the 70s by Tomino with a very set theme. War is hell. All of the Gundam shows since 0079 have kept that theme (except maybe G and X) Where the idea was to explore the horrors of war and the damage human beings do to one another and how to endure the evils of the human heart.
Now we have fucking aliens.
This is also why I did not sub the Gundam 00 movie. Lately Gundam has been taking a bad turn away from it’s roots, and I want nothing to do with it. I will still watch AGE, I want to watch what happens, but I am decidedly uninterested in making subtitles for it. It’s like someone decided to mash up Gundam, Macross Frontier and a Yuusha series and thought it would be okay.
Anyway, stay classy guys, I have some retro 90s goodness coming for you soon!
After quite a long wait, this episode is finally ready to go, Terribly sorry for the string of delays, but I’m trying to Get Nyoron back on it’s feet and back into full swing in time for our anniversary in April.
In addition I have made a youtube channel for some of our stuff, like our translator’s notes, text-less opening and ending themes, and other stuff like that. So here’s the translator’s notes for episode 6, as hosted on youtube here http://www.youtube.com/user/NyoronTV
Sorry to keep you guys hanging for so long, currently I’m working on pumping out KO Beast, Rebuild of Eva, the Gurren Lagann movies, and of course, more Lamune. See you guys again soon!
